Flu

The horrible stomach flu has made its way through our house this weekend. Poor Mady brought it home with her on Friday. It hit me early Sunday morning and Daddy got it this morning. Luckily it is only a 24 hour bug and we have kept Kendyl away from the sickly one so far. I am figuring if she doesn't catch it by tomorrow, we might be in the clear.

While I was lying in bed yesterday, doing absolutley nothing, I was thinking. What happens when a SAHM gets sick with the flu? There is no way I could have taken care of my lovely children without contaminating them with the yucky flu bug, so how do these moms do it? I guess I need to figure it out since I only have 4 1/2 more months at my job.

BTW, anyone know of a great company hiring an HR person? Or, would you like to buy some candles? I kid, I have an unusual peace about this whole situation.

Changes

So there have been a few changes around the Heitland house. First of all, Mady is a full time walker! She started really walking all the time September 9. She is even more busy and I did not think that was possible. This little girl is into everything!

Kendyl has officially started prekindergarten and she loves every minute of it. She is getting really good at writing her name and is learning so much every day.

Since I have been horrible at updating this blog I guess I should fill in some stuff I missed...

We went to Joplin at the end of June to celebrate Hannah's birthday. Kendyl just adores Hannah and had so much fun swimming and playing all weekend.

For the fourth of July we went to the Heritage and Freedom Fest in O'Fallon. Kendyl rode rides and both the girls enjoyed snow cones while they watched fireworks.

Of course, Mady Lou turned 1, but I somewhat touched on that.

Kendyl got to do a soccer camp in July. She spent every Sunday evening learning a little about soccer. She learned enough to know that she didn't really want to do it anymore so we didn't sign her up for a league this fall. We will probably let her try it again next summer.

We also took the girls to the Wabash Days fair here in Wentzville. We met up with our neighbors and Kendyl got to ride rides with Zoe!

In August I made the decision to start my own business selling PartyLite and it couldn't have come at a better time because...earlier this month I found out my position is being eliminated at the end of February. So I have been spending a lot of time trying to get my business up and running. I even have my own website! Feel free to check it out and do some shopping!

Kendyl went to her first gymnastics class, but her social calendar has been so full that she hasn't gone back yet. We are thinking maybe in October after we go on our next camping trip.

One of the fun things Kendyl did was go see Disney's Princesses on Ice with Zoe. They both had so much fun and I can't thank my neighbor enough for inviting Kendyl to go.

So now that everyone is all caught up and I am once again going to promise to try to do a better job at keeping this updated...

So, a month later...

I know, I know. I am really bad at this. All I can say is life happens and we have been busy! So Mady at one year...

She is standing by herself for short amounts of time.

She sleeps great and eats even better.

She is very opinionated and she makes those opinions known.

She still only says ma ma, da da and yeah. It seems like she is trying to say Kendyl but I think it will be awhile for that.

She walks very well behind things. She got a stroller and grocery cart she can push for her birthday and she loves to push them around along with the other walker she already had.

She still loves Kendyl and is really starting to enjoy her room more. Poor Kendyl keeps shutting her door to keep Mady out!

That is really about it. Hopefully I will add some pictures to this soon!

Walking?

So I just wanted to jump on here and make a note that today Mady took her first steps! I know I am way overdue to tell you what my super busy one year old is up to, but I will make time soon.

I will say at her one year check up she weighed 18 lbs 2 oz and was 29 1/2 inches long, but that is all you get for now!

Guess Who's One?!?!

Here she was one year ago...

And here she is taking her last bottle before she turned 1 last night...

I can't believe how fast this past year has gone and how big my baby is now!

Happy Birthday Mady-Lou!!!

Camping

Kendyl planned a family camping trip months ago. She called her aunt and her Paw Paw and asked them if they wanted to go camping with her and they both said yes!

This is where we planned to live for the weekend.

The plan was to go boating on Saturday and just hang out the rest of the weekend. Kendyl was most excited to have her Paw Paw make her donuts, but we didn't get to do that...

A big storm blew threw Saturday afternoon just as we were getting off the boat.

Aunt Heather and her family had left the windows of their tent open so all of their stuff was drenched!

Since the only thing we had planned for Sunday was breakfast and packing up, we packed it up Saturday once the rain stopped and headed home.

Even though our weekend got cut short, Kendyl enjoyed her first camping trip and we are looking forward to the next one!

10 & 11 Months

So, once again, I am behind! Maybe its because Miss Mady is soooo busy. When they say no two kids are the same, they are right! Kendyl was no where near as busy as Mady is...

So what does Mady do besides keep us on her toes? Well...

  • She is still a wonderful sleeper. She is usually in bed by 8:30 and sleeps until 7.

  • She pulls herself up and walks along furniture.

  • She is starting to walk behind toys she can push.

  • She laughs and smiles A LOT!

  • She says da da, ma ma, and yeah.

  • She loves animals especially our new hamster.

  • She likes to swim, but has started not liking her baths.

  • She still eats great. We have yet to find food she doesn't like. She is over being fed; if anyone is feeding themselves, she needs to feed herself too.
