6 Months

Guess who's 6 months old today??

So what is Miss Mady up to these days?

Well...

  • She weighed 13 lbs 12 oz and was 26 inches long when she went to the doctor last week.
  • She is still wearing 3-6 months clothes and size 2 diapers.
  • She is doing very well with eating baby food. She has tried green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, squash, bananas, applesauce and pears. She likes most of them most of the time.
  • She rolls around like crazy. The entire time you try to change her diaper she is trying to flip onto her tummy!

  • She is so close to sitting up on her own. She can do it for small amouts of time but she gets tired and goes either backwards or forwards.

  • She is loving her exersaucer and jumperoo. She also likes her new playmat she got for Christmas.

  • She is a pretty good sleeper, but has started waking up once a night again. Hopefully its just a growth spurt and she will go back to sleeping all night soon.

  • She is a talker, or maybe a singer. She loves to hear her voice.
  • She loves to smile and laugh and nobody can get her laughing quite like her big sister!

  • She is really starting to get into her toys. She holds them and makes them light up and play music. It is really cute when she is in her car seat and reaches up for the toy bar!
  • She is serious about her food. When we eat dinner she sits in her Bumbo and stares at our plates. I think she is just waiting for the day she gets to eat real food! She loves to reach out and try to take Kendyl's cups or reach for her baby food. She really seems to understand the art of eating!

I know I say it every month, but we just love her to pieces and couldn't imagine life without her!

New Years and Birthday Parties

So, I am not sure the first 3 days of the New Year could have been any busier. First my brother came in town on New Years Eve so we had a little get together at our house. Mostly family but there was a couple good friends too. I had every intention on taking pictures, but I am not sure I got any picutres of the people here, just the mess afterwards!

New Year's Day we went to my other brother's house so the kids could open presents from their Uncle PJ while he was in town. The kids got to play and the grown ups played a little poker. The Heitland's didn't really enjoy the poker part, but the company was pretty enjoyable!

Saturday was Kendyl's 4th birthday party. She had so much fun and got even more presents. You would not believe the amount of toys we had to move out of her room to make room for the new presents she got for Christmas and her birthday. She got some really cool stuff though so I am sure she didn't mind packing up some of her older toys for Mady.

That night we all went out for my husband's birthday. To say he had a good time would be an understatement. I think he was making up for the fact that he didn't acknowledge his birthday last year. He may have skipped 30, but he went all out for 31!

Then, on Sunday we took the girls to get pictures taken together finally. They turned out really good. Here are a few for you to enjoy!

Christmas

We had a very relaxing Christmas this year and I have to admit, I loved it! We ended up having 6 different "Christmases" which sounds a lot crazier than it actually was.
Our two Christmases were actually the Sunday before Christmas. We went to my dad's family's Christmas at the farm and then by my husband's dad's house. Christmas at the farm was fun and I always enjoy spending time with my dad's family. The girls both got lots of great presents and Kendyl just loves playing with her cousins.

Our next stop was just as much fun. Kendyl got to play with my husband's stepbrother's two boys and eat sweets, so you know that was a good time for her. Kendyl got some really cute earrings that she has been wearing ever since and some other good stuff.

Our next Christmas was with my mom's family on Christmas Eve. My brother, sister, mom and I actually met up before everyone else got there to exchange our presents. The kids all got really good presents. Once we were done opening our gifts, the rest of the family arrived. We had a good time visiting and enjoying great food.

That night my mother in law spent the night so she could be here Christmas morning to see the girls open their presents. Kendyl and Mady both cleaned up with Santa. Kendyl got a Barbie Dream House and a Princess scooter and Mady got a cute playmat and a Follow me Fiona dog. They also got tons of presents from us and I think they had a great Christmas.

Once they were done with presents, my mom and her boyfriend came over with my grandma and we all had breakfast. Then we had a relaxing day waiting for the rest of my in laws to show up and eat the first Christmas dinner I have ever made. (It was good in case you were wondering.)

There was some family that was supposed to come in from Joplin, but they got snowed in and didn't make it until the next day, which meant one more day of opening presents :). The girls got matching tu tus and hair bows that I ended up getting their pictures taken in.

The last Christmas was actually on New Years Day once my brother got in town. He got Kendyl Zhu Zhu pets and accessories and Mady got a Jumperoo.

So despite my two daughters being little spoiled, they totally enjoyed all of their Christmases.

5 Months

So I am really behind on this blog. So much has been going on that I haven't had a chance to blog about. Hopefully I can catch up now.

Mady turned 5 months on Christmas Eve and since I am so late doing this post I can't remember what things she was doing then and what she has started since then so I will just give you an idea of some of the things she is doing and I will be more detailed for 6 months.

Mady is a great sleeper. She puts herself to sleep every night between 8 and 9 and sleeps until at least 5.

She is loving eating baby food. You can totally tell she wants to eat what we are eating, but so far its just cereal and vegetables.

She is a rolling machine and is finally enjoying playing on her tummy.

She is so happy and spends most of her time smiling and laughing.

She is really starting to use her hands to hold toys and actually play with them.

She absolutely loves Kendyl. She stares at her and Kendyl can get her to laugh better than anyone. I just hope they always enjoy each other as much as they do right now.
