A Great Day!

Do you know what today is?

The last day of winter! That's right, tomorrow Spring officially begins. Now I know there will probably still be chilly weather, but it can't possibly last that much longer. Bring on the night time thunderstorms that help me sleep so well!

And......today I won second row tickets to see The Fray on the radio! I am so excited. Of course I will be VERY pregnant, it is July 3rd. And it is an outdoor concert, but its The Fray and the only thing that will keep me away is actually being in labor. Which I really hope doesn't happen for many reasons.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow marks the official half way point of this pregnancy. Only 20 more weeks until I can meet little Madelyn! Lets just hope she keeps cooking longer than her sister did!

Opinions Please

So after much debate and changing my mind many times I think I may have finally decided what to call this little girl that is growing inside me. Now I know I am opening myself up to lots of criticism here but I really want opinions. So if you read this, even if I don't know you, please tell me what you think.

My name of choice right now, and hopefully not changing anymore is...

Madelyn Elizabeth Heitland

Kendyl made the final decision. As we were sitting at dinner tonight I was asking what she thought of different names. She informed me she didn't like any of the names except Madelyn. She also picked Dixie for the middle name but I am over riding her!

So if you love it or hate it, please let me know. And if you hate it please give me some suggestions! I won't promise that I will change my mind because I have liked Madelyn for a long time and it was originally my first choice, but I love to hear other ideas in case something jumps out at me.

A Dinner Conversation

So here is how a conversation went at dinnertime in the Heitland house last week.

C: Eww, what is this? (he is extremely picky and likes to make faces at things that are new)
Kendyl: Thank you Mommy for making such a yummy dinner!
C: There's some brown stuff on your nose.
Kendyl: Its dirt from the park.

It was maybe the funniest thing Kendyl has said so far!

Its About Time!

So right now I am sitting on my driveway enjoying the most beautiful Saturday we have had in a long time. My hubby took Kendyl for a wagon ride to get the mail. Since we live in a new subdivision we don't get mail delivered to our house, we have to go by the sales office to pick it up. Once our street is 80% complete (which will probably take forever since we are in a recession and all) they will actually start putting in our mailbox! :)

So back to the wonderful weather we are having. I actually got to sleep with the windows open last night! I just loved every minute of it and I slept so good. The fresh air just makes everything better, even waking up a bunch of times because the blinds were blowing in the wind. I know this weather isn't going to last long, but it sure feels like spring is here. We have to "spring forward" our clocks tonight which just means it has to be getting closer to warmth.

I think the part of spring I am looking forward to the most is finally getting grass! I am so sick of looking at this mud. My wonderful OCD husband actually shoveled the mud off our sidewalk today and I can't wait for the day we can move the grill to the patio and start having some barbecue again!

My Baby Girl

So in case you missed the last post...its a girl!

I am so excited and so is Kendyl. I really wanted her to be able to have a sister and she was determined this baby was a girl. I would remind her the baby could be a boy and she would say, "no Mom, him's a girl." It was the cutest thing!

So now that we know she is a girl we have to start making some decisions. We have tossed around a few names and so far Addison Elizabeth is in the lead. Kendyl and I also like Madelyn Dixie and I just love Reagan Hope. Unfortunately I have already been reminded a couple of times the little girl in the Exorcist was named Reagan so that one is probably out!

I think I am most excited to plan the nursery. I am pretty sure I want to put her name (whichever one we choose) on the wall like we did with Kendyl. I am leaning toward purple of some sort and I actually found some bedding at Babies R Us that I like. It is purple and chocolate brown and it has big daisies on it. It will be so cute! Now if I can just talk the hubby into letting me get a new crib...
Its a girl!!!!!!!!

I will come back and update more later.
